Born in Hong Kong, Mimi came to Canada in 1989. She acquired a degree and experience in aerospace engineering before studying visual art at Emily Carr Institute in Vancouver where she discovered her passion for metalwork. To refine her skills, she became a certified welder at British Columbia Institute of Technology and worked in the welding and fabrication industry for five years before starting her own business. Her experiences range from custom fabrication of furniture, manufacturing of high-end aluminum bicycle frames, sheet metal manufacturing to blacksmithing. Mimi combines the mind of an engineer, eye of an artist and hands of a craftsperson to create unique objects.
